Standards for Coaching
Standards for Sport Development Coaches
Main Purpose:
To be responsible for planning and delivering a co-ordinated programme of activity, providing quality and safe coaching in a friendly and professional atmosphere, ensuring supervision of participants.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- To coach young people of all abilities and cater for a wide range of experience
- To guide and be responsible for assistant sports coaches
- To undertake the preparation of programmes of work and deliver these
- To be responsible for completing and returning all necessary forms including registers, feedback questionnaires etc
- To work in designated areas of Wansbeck, and with identified target groups within, Wansbeck
- To be aware of and comply with all relevant Health and Safety regulations and work procedures as highlighted in the Induction Pack
- To be responsible for checking the set-up of all equipment, (and where necessary to set up and dismantle equipment) where required for each coaching session and ensure it is safe for use at all times
- To ensure that all accidents and incidents are recorded and those deemed to be serious are reported immediately to the relevant officer
- To wear and maintain any issued uniform as directed
- To work unsociable hours as and when required, in line with your contract
- To commit to participating in self-development opportunities.
General:
The above duties and responsibilities do not include or define all tasks, which may be required to be carried out by the post holder. These may slightly vary without changing the general character of the duties or level of responsibility entailed. These factors are reflected in the post grading.
